Engoo is a reputable English as a second language (ESL) firm established in the Philippines. Engoo, formerly known as Bibo (Global Opportunity), was created in 2013. They claim to be Japan's number one ESL firm and the top three ESL companies in both South Korea and Taiwan. They recruit about 6000 teachers from over 70 countries. At Engoo, native speakers get US$10 per hour, but non-native speakers often earn only 90PHP or US$2.4 per hour. Because there is no scheduled Engoo salary review, the amount you are offered is the amount you will be paid for the length of your work with the company.
Engoo has different incentive programs based on whether you are Filipino or another nationality (Native or Non-Native Speaking). Filipino teachers can receive a 500PHP 'conducted lessons bonus' if they complete 100 classes before the pay cut-off date. Students can also receive a 500PHP 'no cancellation bonus' if they have at least 100 lessons and no cancellations before then. Other nationalities must conduct 160 lessons during each cut-off period to qualify for a conducted lesson incentive.
Hourly rate: US$10 per hour (native speakers) / US$2.4 per hour (another nationality).
