Fabricated City (2017)
Fabricated City is a 2017 South Korean action thriller film directed by Park Kwang-hyun and starring Ji Chang-wook, Shim Eun-kyung, and Ahn Jae-hong. The film was released on February 9, 2017.
His character "Captain" in an online First-person Shooter is very competent and has a group of loyal friends and comrades who name themselves "RESURRECTION". Fabricated City, ostensibly about a falsely accused gamer striving to defend his reputation, is a part cyber-thriller, half prison drama, and part polemic against corporate corruption. Although slickly produced and occasionally enjoyable, it fails to merge these various genres into a coherent tone or style.
Ji Chang Wook's acting performance before his required military enlistment is in "Fabricated City". Ji stated that he is unlikely to appear in another action film or drama since he does not want to repeat the long and grueling workout and fitness routine. He accepted the position in "Fabricated City" because the schedule coincided with the production of the tvN drama "The K2", and the character of the secret agent-turned-bodyguard also demanded physical conditioning and stamina due to the many actions and fighting sequences.
