Fjällräven
Fjällräven is a Swedish firm specializing in outdoor gear, including clothing and backpacks. It was established in 1960 in the northern Swedish town of Örnsköldsvik by Åke Nordin.
The young Åke decided to perform some research on the weight and comfort of a backpack after becoming dissatisfied with the lack of comfort of the backpacks that were readily accessible in his city. He discovered that the weight of the backpack should be placed near the wearer's spine and at the top.
His first product, which he developed as a result of his studies, caught the attention of the Nordic Sami people, who hired the young man to make backpacks and tents. From that point on, the company's growth was exponential, and in 1983 it was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
The brand is an international corporation now, but the Nordic nations in Europe account for the majority of its sales.
The design of Fjällräven items is distinctive and simple to recognize: they are quite somber and elegant while also being functional and comfortable. They use organic cotton and recycled polyester in several of their trekking backpacks.
The Kånken, Kajka, Abisko, and Kaipak backpack lines are the most popular, although the company's website also offers a wide selection of others.
