French International School of Yangon
The LFIR - French International School of Yangon is a high-quality, non-profit educational school. It is completely certified by the French Ministry of Education and part of a network of 580 French international schools in 139 countries as a member of AEFE ("Agency for French Education Abroad"). The school follows the highly respected French national curriculum, adapted for an international setting.
The LFIR adheres to the outstanding French national curriculum, and its pupils receive the strong foundations in academic knowledge and critical thinking for which French education is known. Furthermore, the curriculum is tailored to the school's multicultural, bilingual atmosphere, which is dominated by international students, providing LFIR students with the unique opportunity to strengthen their language and intercultural abilities.
Children from international French schools can easily transition to other international school curricula and continue their education at either French or international universities after graduation. A variety of scholarships are offered through Campus France and AEFE for students desiring to study in France.
It should be noted that all students from AEFE schools (including the LFIR) are free to attend any other French school in the world - there are currently 580 AEFE schools in 139 countries.
For a charge, the French International School of Yangon provides various extra-curricular activities to pupils of various levels. These activities are optional and take place on the school grounds every day after classes (at 3 or 4 p.m.).
Classes are taught by both French International School of Yangon and outside teachers and are overseen by LFIR assistant teachers. They provide parents with convenience and peace of mind by exposing youngsters to a variety of activities and possible interests.
