Germans will spend a whole week reuniting with family, friends and have fun during the New Year. On New Year's Eve December 31, the atmosphere was quite quiet as everyone gathered and remained seated in their seats for the last 15 minutes of the old year. As soon as the church bells rang, they would jump off their chairs and together throw a prepared weight from the front to the back of their heads. According to German belief, that is the time when they get rid of the difficulties and bad luck clinging to the old year to welcome many good things when the new year begins.

After that, all of them will parade around the big and small streets of the country in a very vibrant and bustling atmosphere. The children will perform musical repertoire from the organ and harmonica to bring good prayers for everyone in the magical melodies of traditional music. The adults will gather in large groups to sing New Year's songs and raise colorful flags.
