This fairly priced, 165-room family-run hotel has been in operation since 1974, and its location is crucial. The eco-friendly Golden Arrow in downtown Lake Placid features immediate water views from its lobby and many of its rooms, in contrast to other hotels in the area that are across the street. All of the rooms have Keurig coffeemakers, mini-fridges, and microwaves; some also have fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, and/or kitchens. Renovations are still being done, though. (The hotel is connected to a nice retail space where guests may purchase wine and espresso to go.) Water sports, parking, and Wi-Fi are all free, and pets are permitted with some restrictions.
