Grapevine Lake
A reservoir called Grapevine Lake can be found in North Texas, around 20 miles (32 km) northwest of Dallas and northeast of Fort Worth. When the US Army Corps of Engineers dammed Denton Creek, a Trinity River tributary, in 1952, it was filled in. Flood control and serving as a municipal water reservoir are the reservoir's two main uses, with recreation and open space areas serving as supplemental use. The city of Grapevine, Texas, to which the lake is connected, gave the lake its name.
It's a well-liked location for all kinds of water sports. Water waves are created by fishing rigs, pontoon boats, power boats, and jet skis. Kayaks and other forms of stand-up floatation are also widely used.
Around the lake, three marinas provide gasoline, storage, rentals, and other amenities like burger joints and sailing clubs. Exploring the nearby hiking trails and camping are additional activities. One of the most beautiful paths for biking or hiking is the 9.5-mile North Shore Trail. And a well-liked location for tent camping is the city-owned Meadowmere Park on the south-central shore.
