Lake Granbury
Near Granbury, Texas, there is a reservoir called Lake Granbury. It is one of three lakes that have been used to dam the Brazos River and was built in 1969. The De Cordova Bend Dam confines Lake Granbury, a long, narrow lake with 103 miles (221 km) of shoreline. The Granbury-based Brazos River Authority is in charge of managing the lake.
Only a little more than an hour's drive separates Dallas from this tranquil reservoir on the Brazos River. The water is close to the Fort Worth metropolitan region, southwest of the city. It's a well-liked body of water for swimming, boating, and fishing from sandy beaches with over 8,000 acres to explore.
It's common to gather in Granbury City Beach Park to take advantage of the pleasant weather. A sandy swimming beach and other day-use areas, including volleyball courts and picnic pavilions, can be found in this compact but crowded city park.
