Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo
Guillaume Emmanuel "Guy-Manuel" de Homem-Christo (February 8, 1974) is Daft Punk's co-founder and second half, alongside Thomas Bangalter. Guy-Manuel De Homem Christo was born in the Paris district of Neuilly-sur-Seine on February 8, 1974. His great-grandfather, the writer and fascist champion Homem Cristo Filho, whose father was the military figure Francisco Manuel Homem Cristo, was of Portuguese noble origin. Paul de Homem-Christo, his younger brother, is also a musician.
He revealed in an interview that he was given a toy guitar and a keyboard when he was seven years old, then an electric guitar when he was fourteen. When it comes to creating music, he says he prefers to utilize the guitar. Guillaume Emmanuel met Thomas Bangalter in high school and instantly became friends because of their shared interest in 1960s and 1970s films and music. Guy-Manuel, Thomas Bangalter, and Laurent Brancowitz eventually founded Darlin', a short-lived indie rock band. The band was described as "a bunch of dumb punky thrash" in a scathing Melody Maker review, which they find funny. Darlin' was disbanded as a result of this.
Daft Punk is finally reaping the benefits of over two decades of toil. The duo, who are notorious for performing in disguise and declining interview invitations, recently switched labels from EMI to Sony Music. Daft Punk has announced that they will return to the studio to record a new album, and that they will play several times in the near future.
