He was one of the leaders of the Zionist movement

Zionist traditionally follows a gradualist and pacifist philosophy, but during World War I, Ben-Gurion strengthened his ideals and turned more of Zionism into an active movement. He obstructed the local British authorities and organized a massive influx of illegal immigrants. He built Jewish communities throughout the nation and actively encouraged the development of defense capabilities by investing in arms.

Ben-Gurion established a policy of containment during the 1936–1939 Arab uprising in Palestine, which prohibited the Haganah and other Jewish organizations from retaliating against Arab attacks on civilians. Jewish and only interested in self-defense. Ben-Gurion endorsed the Peel Committee's 1937 recommendation to divide Palestine into Jewish and Arab districts. [59] As a result of disagreements with Ze'ev Jabotinsky, who opposed partition, Jabotinsky's supporters left Havlagah and joined Haganah.

The "Ben-Gurion House," the Tel Aviv home where he lived from 1931 until part of each year until 1953, is now a museum dedicated to the history of the building. Ben-Gurion and North Vietnamese Politburo Chairman Ho Chi Minh grew close after sharing a hotel room in Paris in 1946. Ben-Gurion was returned to his Jewish exile in Vietnam by Ho Chi Minh. In response to Ho Chi Minh's request, Ben-Gurion said: "I am confident that we will be able to create a Jewish Government in Palestine."

A group known as "Zionist" pushed persecuted European Jews to emigrate to Israel. Ben-Gurion thought that the Jews needed to emigrate to Palestine and become farmers in order to revive Israel as a country. At the age of 20 in 1906, he relocated to Palestine. He labored as a farmer in Jewish agricultural communities in Palestine's Galilee and other regions. The Turkish administrators of Palestine detained Ben-Gurion and exiled him from the Ottoman Empire as a result of his Zionist activities. This is one of the interesting facts about David Ben-Gurion, himself one of the leaders of the Zionist movement.
