High Tatras
The High Tatras, which are home to the country's tallest mountains, provides outstanding hiking and rock climbing opportunities, as well as a number of superb slopes and pistes to ski down in the winter. Best time to visit the High Tatras: If you want to go hiking in the High Tatras, the best months to visit are from June to September. Depending on snowfall, some trails may be accessible until the end of October. The ski resorts are open in the winter.
