Hotel Bel-Air

This historic, 1950s-era hotel is situated in the Bel-Air neighborhood of Los Angeles and has flat-screen TVs in each of the rooms. The hotel offers a sizable garden and an on-site full-service spa. After a thorough two-year renovation, this opulent and subtly decadent 1920s Mission-style hotel, a lovely retreat on 12 fantasy acres of lush landscape, reopened in 2011.

Large windows and garden views can be found in the rooms at the Hotel Bel-Air. Modern furnishings and white bedding are included in the rooms. For the spa-inspired bathrooms, bathrobes come in adult and kid sizes.

Although there have been some impressive additions, such as new lofts and hillside suites, a La Prairie spa and fitness center, as well as upgraded room amenities, the general atmosphere has thankfully remained relatively unchanged. Visitors still enjoy spending long afternoons by the famous pool, meandering through the gardens, or subtly trying to spot which Hollywood actor is seated at the next table in the Wolfgang Puck restaurant. The romantic retreat is a quiet, garden-like getaway in the middle of the busy city. Hotel Bel-Air is also one of the best hotels in L.A. with free WI-FI.

The Bar & Lounge, which offers one fireplace, a grand piano, and views of the gardens, is open to guests. Wolfgang Puck is in charge of the Mediterranean fusion restaurant at the Hotel Bel-Air.
