The LINE
When the Sydell Group renovated a massive 1964 structure at the bustling intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Normandie Avenue, it took the city by storm when it reopened (NoMad Hotel, Ace Hotel). The 388 hotel rooms' most notable feature, which was the grid-like facade's perfectly square windows adorned with neon-colored curtains, was soon promoted. The LINE Koreatown boutique hotel, housed in a mid-century structure less than 4 miles from Hollywood, offers free WiFi, an outdoor pool, a furnished sun deck, and three restaurants. Every contemporary room at The LINE Hotel features floor to ceiling windows with views of Los Angeles, unique furniture, contemporary artwork, a flat-screen TV, and an iPod docking station. Each air-conditioned room has a mini-bar with American and Korean snacks and drinks as well as an in-room safe.
The food at Pot Restaurant is fusion Korean-American food. Commissary Restaurant serves food with fresh fruits and vegetables as an accent in a greenhouse-like setting. The Café serves tea, coffee, and international sweets. There is also a lounge with a full bar there. This hotel features a Poketo art and design collective shop space. Visitors can rent bicycles to tour the neighborhood and there is a fitness center on-site. On Saturdays, free yoga courses are available to hotel guests.
The Staples Center, Los Angeles Convention Center, and Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum are all within 4 miles of this hotel, which is surrounded by Koreatown's pre-1940 brick colonial revival structures. Less than 15 minutes' drive from Beverly Hills and Universal Studios, The LINE Hotel is surrounded by a variety of late-night eateries and pubs.
