Humanitree
Founded in 2011 by philanthropists and entrepreneurs Ricardo Salinas Pliego and María Laura Medina de Salinas, Humanitree offers a unique educational concept that is transforming learning.
At Humanitree, the focus is on preparing children for a changing world through a "Project Based Learning Approach". This means students are empowered to control their own learning, encouraged to question, think freely, and critically evaluate information. The projects they work on are relevant to their community and provide real-world problems for students to solve.
The high school section, known as Flight, at Humanitree offers the renowned IB Diploma Programme. This comprehensive course of studies is designed for the final two years of high school and is recognized as one of the best preparations for university.
At Humanitree, students can choose to complete the full Diploma Programme, involving six subject courses, along with Theory of Knowledge, an Extended Essay, and meeting the CAS requirements. Alternatively, students can opt for individual courses to gain exam certificates, allowing them to tailor their education to their specific interests and goals.
Technology plays a crucial role at Humanitree, supporting new learning paradigms like collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking. The school follows the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards and is recognized as an Apple Distinguished School.
With a 1:1 iPad program and the use of Apple Classroom and School Work, Humanitree ensures that students and teachers are connected and engaged in the learning process.
