Hyperloop

On August 12, 2013, Musk revealed the idea for the Hyperloop, an incredibly quick and inexpensive transportation system that uses a large, interconnected system of vacuum-sealed tubes with very minimal air resistance. A proposed high-speed system for both people and goods transit is called a "hyperloop." Elon Musk coined the phrase to denote a cutting-edge project based on the vactrain idea (first appeared in 1799). Tubes, pods, and terminals are the three key elements used in hyperloop systems. A sizable enclosed, low-pressure system, the tube (usually a long tunnel). The pod, which uses magnetic propulsion and is a vehicle that is pressurized to atmospheric pressure, travels inside this tube mostly without encountering any air resistance or friction. Arrivals and departures of pods are handled by the terminal.

In contrast to vacuum trains, the Hyperloop uses residual air pressure inside the tube to create lift from aerofoils and propulsion from fans. This is how Musk first conceptualized the Hyperloop. Musk and SpaceX have championed the hyperloop idea, and other businesses or groups have been urged to work together to further the technology. In July 2019, the Technical University of Munich Hyperloop set a record for the fastest hyperloop travel.
