Musk Almost Sold Tesla To Google

Tesla was in a terrible predicament in March 2013: the business was on the verge of going out of business, and consumers weren't buying its electric automobiles. However, Elon Musk had a backup plan, according to a recent Bloomberg report: cash out with Google.

Elon Musk turned to his buddy Larry Page as Tesla was beginning to falter and suggested Google purchase the company along with $5 billion in plant costs. Although the specifics of the offer are unclear, Bloomberg notes that Tesla was then valued at $6 billion. According to reports, Musk also urged Page to promise him either another eight years in charge of the business or enough time to create a third-generation, popular electric automobile.

According to Bloomberg, the negotiations were advanced. Page reportedly "shook on the transaction and accepted the total proposal." The matter was never fully resolved despite weeks of negotiations by the lawyers. As far as we are aware, the agreement was abandoned. From the brink of bankruptcy, Tesla turned around. In the ensuing weeks, the business managed to turn a profit and even settled its debts with the Department of Energy. Musk allegedly terminated the contract with Google shortly after.
