The largest shipbuilding company in the world as well as a significant heavy equipment producer is Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. In Ulsan, South Korea, the organization is headquartered. As a branch of the Hyundai Group, HHI was established in 1972 by Chung Ju-yung, who finished construction on its first ships in 1974.
