Samsung SDI
Samsung SDI Co., Ltd., also known as SDI in Korean, is a manufacturer of batteries and electronic components with headquarters in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Through the segments of energy solutions and electronic materials, Samsung SDI runs its business. Rechargeable batteries are produced by the Energy Solution section for use in energy storage systems (ESS), automobiles, and IT devices, while the Electronic Materials segment creates materials for semiconductors and displays.
According to the SNE study, Samsung SDI is placed sixth globally with a 5% market share in the first half of 2022. In the South Korean city of Suwon, Samsung SDI begins construction of a solid-state battery pilot line in 2022. The European Commission penalized Samsung SDI and a number of other significant businesses in 2012 for fixing the price of TV cathode-ray tubes.
