Independent School Foundation (ISF)
Independent School Foundation (ISF) Founded in January 2000 by Charles Kao and Frances Wong. 2003 saw the establishment of the Independent School Foundation Academy (ISF Academy), a private, not-for-profit, independent school committed to providing Mandarin and English education from Foundation to Grade 12.
Beginning its educational journey in August 2003, ISF Academy initially laid its foundations at a temporary facility in Wanchai, welcoming 56 students from grades 1 to 4. Responding to the growing need for an innovative approach, the school expanded with a second temporary campus in Causeway Bay, eventually finding a permanent home in the quiet Pokfulam area in July 2007.
A key moment in the academy's history came in February 2007 with the launch of the Foundation Year programme. This progressive initiative gives students a year of preparation before entering Grade 1, enhancing their overall educational experience. The 2007-08 school year marks the beginning of the first year of this progressive program, further solidifying ISF Academy's commitment to comprehensive education.
The large and purpose-built campus, nestled in the stunning Kong Sin Wan Tsuen Valley in Pokfulam, spans an area of 13,152 square metres. Located in the South Island District of Hong Kong Island, the campus is a testament to the academy's dedication to providing a conducive and innovative environment for learning and development.
