On a truck, roof racks and trunks will not function, and you might want to leave the hitch unlocked for towing. The Inno Velo Gripper would be a perfect solution, as it attaches a bicycle to the edge of a pickup truck's bed. This location keeps the bike secure and out of the driver's line of sight, unlike other cargo carriers we tried. Additionally, the clamps on the Inno Velo Gripper are tiny enough to be tossed into a toolbox when it does not carry a bike.
In general, you do not need to detach the front wheel. Still, if your motorcycle does not fit in the bed of your truck with the wheels attached, you may need to drop the tailgate. This Inno Velo Gripper does not have a locking mechanism for the grips or the bike, yet you can secure your bike straight to the truck.
The Inno Velo Gripper is offered in two configurations: the RT201 is intended for use with standard pickup-bed sides, while the RT202 is designed to be used with bed-rail C-channel systems.
