Innsbruck Christmas Market Maria-Theresien Straße
Every year, from late November to early January, Innsbruck's main commercial strip adopts a new persona and transforms into a hub for holiday flair. A spectacular Innsbruck Christmas market takes over the street till December 25. Up to January 6, it becomes a New Year's market after the big day. This boulevard, where the old and the modern collide, is flanked with modern glass-fronted businesses, with the rustic, wooden Christmas market huts tucked into the middle. With so many options, it's a great chance to buy all your gifts in one place, regardless of who you're shopping for.
In addition to the 30 stalls selling handmade children’s toys, artisan Innsbruck souvenirs, freshly-grilled hot dogs, and mugs of steaming mulled wine, the Christmas market also boasts some giant decorations. Huge baubles twice the size of the stalls and real trees covered in twinkling lights add a whimsical atmosphere to the market and make you feel like a little kid!
