Salzburg City Center Christmas Market
The Salzburg City Center Christmas Market, one of the oldest in all of Austria, stretches all the way back to the fifteenth century. It has a magical aura that will make you fall in love, and it surrounds Salzburg's famous Cathedral, which is located inside the Hohensalzburg fortification. This market has a fantastic calendar of events to get you in the holiday spirit. There is a ton going on, including Krampus marches through the streets of the city, choir performances in front of the cathedral, Turmblasen (wind instrument) performances in Residenz Square, nativity scene displays in the Residenz courtyard, and much more.
You’ll find around 100 different stalls here, making this market a fantastic place to pick up a souvenir or some gifts for friends and family back home.
