Innsbruck Old Town Christmas Market
From mid-November until Christmas, you may visit the city's enchanted Old Town Christmas Market in Innsbruck's historic district. The market is a lovely area to stroll through and get into the holiday spirit because it is tucked in front of the well-known Golden Roof monument and surrounded by charming medieval structures. The shops here are a veritable gold mine of souvenirs. From individualized Christmas decorations and cozy winter clothes to classic Innsbruck souvenirs and a ton of traditional Austrian gifts, you'll find it all here. Classic Christmas carols from the Golden Roof are played by Austrian Turmbläser (brass bands), enhancing your magical experience.
For the best view of the market, you should head up to the viewing platform. From up here, you’ve got a bird’s-eye view of the stalls, their twinkling lights, and all the shoppers enjoying the run-up to Christmas! While you’re here, it’s definitely worth checking out the neighboring Kiebachgasse street opposite the Erzherzog-Friedrich-Straße. Throughout December, this street is transformed into a place of legends, with famous characters from folk stories and fairy tales displayed all along it.
