International Bilingual School of Provence

The diversity of its student population gives the International Bilingual School of Provence (IBS), an independent co-educational school in Aix-en-Provence in the south of France, its international character. The school, which has been in operation since 1984, comprises a Primary and Secondary division with a total yearly enrolment of 950 pupils from more than 75 nations. IBS welcomes students from all five continents, both as boarding and day students, while they pursue their studies in English, French, or both, in addition to the French students who make up half of the student body.

The international component of the school is unique in that it is not dominated by anyone's nationality, and new students are made to feel at ease right away. The institution, which is dedicated to bilingualism in French and English, provides both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and the French Baccalaureate. To ensure that students keep their own language abilities, the school provides seven first languages.

At IBS of Provence, they offer a large range of extracurricular activities for students of all ages. The list is extensive and includes tennis, football, basketball, yoga, cross-fit, volleyball, martial arts, dance art, photography, theatre, piano, guitar, etc.

The school is recognized by the International Baccalaureate and also provides a conventional French curriculum as well as Cambridge IGCSEs.
