Lycée International de Saint Germain-en-Laye: American Section
Dwight D. Eisenhower founded the Lycée International just outside of Paris over half a century ago, and it provides a unique approach to bilingual and bicultural education for children aged 4 to 18.
In the American Section, students are taught by native English speakers. They also attend the Lycée International de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, a public school considered among France's top-10 institutions, where they follow a complete French curriculum. Their alumni go on to the world's best institutions after achieving 99–100% success on the coveted OIB diploma (baccalauréat Avec option Internationale). Students with little or no French can enroll in Français Spécial for a year of intensive language study.
The Lycée brings together students from 14 different countries. As a consequence, you'll have a truly bilingual, multicultural experience, as well as friendships that will last a lifetime.
The American Section aims to promote a love of learning, intellectual curiosity, and the confidence to engage in self-directed study in pupils. They establish a learning atmosphere that emphasizes positive reinforcement and support, as well as inquiry-based learning opportunities. Individual endeavors are encouraged and supported by their professors. American Section students frequently explore the concepts and ideas they have been taught through experiential learning.
