Island of Hawaii, Hawaii
The Island of Hawaii is the largest island in the United States, is the southeasternmost of the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaiʻi Island is made up of five successively erupting shield volcanoes, one on top of the other, including Kohala, Mauna Kea, Hualālai, Mauna Loa, Hawaiʻi Kīlauea.
The island is incredibly diverse, offering more diversity in climates and landscapes than any other Hawaiian archipelago. As you drive around the Island, you can come across dozens of different terrains and climates. Here, you will always come across surprises. The beaches do not follow any rules. You can find a black sand beach easier than a white sand beach, and if adventurous enough, you can drop yourself into one of the few blue sand beaches in the world.
The Island of Hawaii spans 8 of the world's 13 climate zones, and you can enjoy just about anything here. You can snorkel past tropical reefs and enjoy a sunset snowball fight atop Mauna Kea a few hours later. And then, of course, the unforgettable Manta Ray night dive.
