It's Okay to Be Okay is a South Korean television series created and directed by Jo Yong. Kim Soo-hyun, Seo Yea-ji, Oh Jung-se, and Park Gyu-young star. The show follows a mental unit attendant and an antisocial children's book author. The series was broadcast for 16 episodes on tvN and Netflix from June 20, 2020, to August 9, 2020. According to Nielsen Korea, it recorded an average nationwide TV viewership rating of 5.4%. It was the most popular show of 2020 in the romance genre on Netflix in South Korea.
Moon Gang-tae lives with his autistic older brother Moon Sang-tae. They've been moving about a lot since Sang-tae saw their mother's death. At each new location, Gang-Tae works as a caretaker at a mental unit. While working in a hospital, he meets Ko Moon-young (Ye-ji), a famous children's book author who is known to have an antisocial personality disorder.
Circumstances force Gang-tae to work at the OK Psychiatric Hospital in Seongjin Place, the same city in which they all grew up. Meanwhile, Moon-young develops a love interest in Gang-tae after discovering that their pasts are intertwined. She joins him in Seongjin, where the three (including Sang-tae) gradually heal each other's emotional scars. They unravel many secrets, seek comfort from each other, and move forward in their lives.
