Jabal Arkanu
The third one in Top 3 Highest Mountains in Libya that Toplist would like to introduce to you is Jabal Arkanu. Mount Arkanu, also known as Jabal Arkanu, Jebel Arkenu, or Gebel Rchenu, is a Libyan mountain. The mountain is around 300 kilometers southeast of El Tag and 70 kilometers west of Arkanu and the two Arkenu constructions in Libya's Libyan Desert, in the Kufra District. It rises 500 meters above the neighboring Gilf Kebir plateau and a valley-oasis to a height of 1,435 meters (4,708 feet). Mount Arkanu stretches for 28 kilometers (17 miles) and is 18 kilometers (11 miles) wide.
Arab sources have known about Arkanu's existence since 1892. Ahmed Hassanein was the first to discover Arkanu in 1923. The mountain is made up of granite intrusions. The valley stretches for 15 kilometers and is oriented east-west. The valley boasts a lush greenery with plants, grass, and a few trees.
Arkanu is utilized for grazing. The Bedouins bring their herds to the valley every year, leave them there, and block the entrance with boulders (at a height of 598 meters (1,962 feet). Three months later, they return to claim their livestock.
