Jabal Zubayr

The second one in Top 5 Highest Mountains in Egypt that Toplist would like to introduce to you is Jabal Zubayr. With an elevation of 2,634 meters, Jabal Zubayr (also known as Gebel Zubeir) is Egypt's second highest peak. The mountain is close to Mount Catherine- the highest mountain in Egypt, located in the South Sinai Governorate near the city of Saint Catherine.


Jabal Zubayr's rugged terrain makes it a difficult climb. The mountain does not see a lot of climbers and is mostly used as a shortcut to Mount Saint Catherine. Jabal Zubayr mountain has a cold desert climate. There is an excess of evaporation in comparison to precipitation. Summers in this mountain are typically hot (or warm in a few cases), dry, and humid, though they are not as hot as summers in hot desert climates. Winters are typically cold and dry. Snow is uncommon in these areas.
