Another large global pet food maker, J.M. Smucker, is based in the United States and sells mostly in that country, though it also distributes to the Middle East. J.M. Smucker or Smucker's is a North American food firm that creates jam, peanut butter, jelly, fruit syrups, beverages, shortening, ice cream toppings, and other items. Orrville, Ohio is home to Smucker's corporate headquarters. It was founded in 1897.


Smucker has risen to prominence in the pet food sector in recent years by purchasing firms such as Big Heart Pet Brands and Ainsworth Pet Nutrition, the latter of which developed Rachel Ray's Nutrish brand.
