Johan Liebert

The titular "monster" and primary adversary of the Monster series is Johan Liebert. He is Nina Fortner's older twin brother; she used to go by the name Anna Liebert. Johan was shot in the head in 1986, but Dr. Kenzo Tenma performed surgery on him and kept him alive. He was able to manipulate many people because of his carefully created demeanor, who thought he was perfect and out of this world.

Johan is incredibly charismatic and intelligent, and he has lived parts of his life under various aliases in various places. His propensity is to mercilessly manipulate and corrupt others with his gifts, frequently for no other reason than his own amusement of wreaking havoc and pain. In order to experience the same sense of solitude that Johan did, Helmut Wolf is forced to witness the deaths of all of his close friends and relatives rather than simply being slain.

Johan Liebert has a nihilistic outlook on life and believes that most people's lives are like specks in the distance that vanish in an instant. Instead of killing his victims directly, Johan also has a penchant for inflicting the most loss and suffering; nonetheless, this practice frequently prompts the victims to commit suicide. He killed his own parents, leaving his twin sister alive, in an effort to change the past.
