Lucy

The protagonist, anti-hero, and anti-villainess of the Elfen Lied series is Lucy/Nyu. 'Queen' Diclonius, Lucy, was a person who was challenging to categorize as either "good" or "evil" by any criterion of social mores. Because of the cruelty she was subjected to as a child, she was both cruelly tormented and also a sadistic tormentor of others. Although she had never anticipated it, occasionally she had the opportunity to see that she could, in fact, experience love and acceptance from others.

Kaede, the main character of Elfen Lied, has three personalities, the most evil and terrible of which is Lucy. Kaede has experienced a lot of bullying as a result of being a Diclonius-human hybrid and being shunned by society. She lost trust in people as a result of going through such horrific and painful experiences as seeing her dog killed by bullies.

Without feeling guilty, Lucy used to murder entire families so she could use their homes. Her instincts as a Diclonii were simply to slay people to her heart's satisfaction. Even the father and sister of Kouta, a lifelong friend, were murdered by Lucy.
