La Grande Maison
What better way to spend the day than with a tour of Takamaka Rum Distillery followed by a trip to the famed La Grande Maison? It is a great opportunity to try some of the exquisite rum within arm's length of one another. Then proceed to this fine-dining establishment.
Christelle Verheyden, one of the country's most brilliant chefs, runs it. The La Plaine St. Andre's La Grande Maison is nestled among tropical greenery.
The menu's specialties change daily, and they use fresh, local ingredients to offer an elegant dining experience. Favorites like Creole bouillabaisse, pork rum, and seafood au coco, on the other hand, stay consistent throughout the year. Creole bouillabaisse is a traditional French fish soup that evokes feelings of home and warmth. Try seafood au coco, which is seafood served in a coconut, for something a little different.
On Wednesdays and Saturdays, live music begins at 8 p.m., and the atmosphere comes alive. Lunch is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you'd rather book an evening supper, they're open from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
