La Tartine
La Tartine is a must-see, especially if you're in Jeltoskan on Friday and Saturday nights. The restaurant is decorated in the old Soviet-style and features an impressive collection of Soviet artifacts, including an old Soviet motorbike on a dance floor and busts of Stalin and Lenin. In La Tartine, guests may also opt to dine traditional Kazakh and Russian cuisine in special dining rooms designed to seem like jail cells, where they will be served by waiters and waitresses dressed in Soviet school uniforms and wearing the pioneer movement's crimson neckties.
From early morning until late at night, La Tartine provides a broad variety of traditional Russian specialties that the cooks maintain up to date, always careful of nutritional concerns and, of course, completely aware of how to keep customers pleased with some of Kazakhstan's most exquisite food. You may also have a nice moment, like in Russia, while eating your éclair or pain au raisin and staring out the window with a cup of tea or coffee, or even a Russian cold drink. La Tartine is always present to provide pleasure and satisfaction for breakfast, lunch, desserts, or light meals. This restaurant has become very popular and famous in both Kazakh capitals, winning the award for best dessert in 2011.
