Lake Insenborn (Upper Sûre)

Rommwiss, Burfelt, Insenborn, Lultzhausen, and Liefrange are all ideal locations to spread out a blanket for a picnic along the shore of the Upper Sûre Lake. This is rated one of the most beautiful lakes in Luxembourg.

The 42km is the beachfront of the Upper Sûre Nature Park. The Insenborn solar boat offers a 2-hour tour that describes the local flora and animals as well as a journey ashore to the Burfelt forest discovery center.

If you want a more private setting, take the wooded route to the Burfelt viewing platform and then go to the shingle beach close to the Maison de la Fôret. Astonishing wooden sculptures can be seen.

You can also reserve the amphibian tour, which combines a boat trip with an 8-kilometer hike around the reservoir's left bank. The excursion departs from Insenborn and disembarks at Barel for a walking tour that takes you past the Hellekessel and the floating bridge at Lultzhausen on the way back. It takes about 4 hours to complete the tour.
