Linh Thứu Thiền Tự
One of the best Buddhist temples in Boise is Linh Thuu Thien Tu, a Vietnamese Buddhist temple that has been a member of the Unified Buddhist Church of Vietnam (UBCV) for decades. The temple was founded in 1992 and moved to its current location in 2016.
Like other Vietnamese Buddhist temples, Linh Thuu Thiền Tự follows the teachings of Theravada Buddhism, one of the oldest surviving traditions of Buddhism. Theravada Buddhism emphasizes the importance of personal discipline, meditation, and the Four Noble Truths.
You can also find a lot of programs and services for people of all ages and backgrounds. For instance, the temple holds weekly services (chanting, meditation, and dharma talks) on every Sunday morning. Adults and children alike can join Vietnamese language classes, Buddhist philosophy classes, and meditation classes.
Meanwhile, those who want to deepen their practice of Buddhism can consider joining periodic retreats here. Linh Thuu Thien Tu is also an active member of the Boise community, participating in a variety of community events and programs to provide support to local organizations.
