Lotte Chilsung Beverage
One of South Korea's leading beverage producers, Lotte Chilsung, is a division of the Lotte Company. The word "Chilsung" (chilseong,, ) literally translates to "Great Dipper" (seven stars), and the company's emblem is a row of seven stars with the same name. Lotte Chilsung Beverage has been consistently developing and marketing goods in carbonated drinks, juices, coffee, tea, and water since the inception and successful debut of Chilsung Cider, a lemon-lime soft drink, in 1950.
Vietnam was the first country to receive Lotte Chilsung Cider exports in 1966. The business started to establish a global footprint in the middle of the 1970s by signing deals with American businesses like Pepsi. Lotte Chilsung obtained a JAS mark in 1989. With 35% of the domestic market share in the late 1990s, Lotte Chilsung became the largest beverage firm in Asia.
