Oriental Brewery (OB)

Oriental Brewery, sometimes known as OB, is a South Korean brewery that was first established by Doosan Group and is currently owned by AB InBev. It was started in 1952 by the Doosan Group and bought out by InBev in 1998. Anheuser-Busch InBev sold it in July 2009 in an effort to pay down debt for the parent business. It was sold to a Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. subsidiary. Five years after the sale, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB Inbev) has the option to buy OB under pre-negotiated terms.

AB Inbev exercised its right to repurchase OB in April 2014. OB once more became an AB Inbev subsidiary. Nowadays, OB manufactures a number of the most well-liked alcoholic beverages in Korea, including the OB, Cass, and Cafri lager brands. Instead of the malted barley that is so popular among beer enthusiasts in the West, all OB beers are made from rice. Red Rock, OBE, KaprI, Budweiser, and other brands were produced by the company after it merged with Cass Beer (State) in March 2001, which had a manufacturing capacity of 1,120,000 KLE per year.

It was the first sector of the beer business to receive the Korea Standards Association's ISO 9001 accreditation in July 2002. After Dutch brewer Molte Industries acquired it in September 2010, it became a foreign corporation. In April 2014, it became a subsidiary of Belgian brewer Anheuser-Busch Inversh.
