Macau University of Science and Technology
Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) was founded in 2000 and has quickly grown to become Macau's largest multi-disciplinary university. It is also the youngest university among the Top 50 Universities in Greater China. M.U.S.T. has been granted permission by the Macau SAR government to award academic degrees at the doctoral, master's, and bachelor's levels. To meet the diverse needs of its students, M.U.S.T. offers approximately ten programs, most of which are taught in English, but some are taught in Chinese, Portuguese, or Spanish.
A skilled, professional, experienced, and internationalized faculty team is the cornerstone to good education and extraordinary research. Chair professors, professors, visiting professors, associate professors, and assistant professors abound at M.U.S.T. The majority of the academic and research employees have PhDs and have worked or studied at prestigious institutions and universities around the world. M.U.S.T. has also recruited a number of world-renowned professionals and specialists to teach undergraduates and postgraduates. Academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Taiwan's Academia Sinica, the United States National Academy of Sciences, Highly Cited Scholars, and other notable scholars are among the experts.
Macau University of Science and Technology presently possesses a variety of prestigious institutes and research facilities after years of development.
In 2016, the university created the Smart City Institute and the "Biophysical Laboratory for Chinese Medicine," which is Macau's first Nobel Prize winner laboratory. These institutes and laboratories combine teaching and research responsibilities, not only providing practical training opportunities for outstanding research talent but also making significant contributions to studies on Macau's long-term development and appropriate economic diversification.
