Maglieriapelle

Maglieriapelle was the fruit of Tarik and Gaye zkan’s 20 years of experience in the leather industry. Tarik established an import and export business for exotic leather in 1997. He met and collaborated with a lot of industry craftsmen over the years and was inspired by their craftsmanship.

He and Gaye decided to get into footwear manufacturing after gaining a plethora of experience from these exchanges. The husband-and-wife team set out to create more than just another shoe company, but one based on their love of traditional shoemaking.

Although most businesses seem to want to claim that their shoes are entirely handmade, the vast majority will use machinery at some point throughout the manufacturing process. Maglieriapelle, on the other hand, is one of the few that is entirely handmade.

Given the expense, this achievement is nothing short of remarkable! Maglieriapelle's Istanbul studio employs only 15 artisans who handcraft the brand's shoes, which have a one-of-a-kind finish thanks to a hand-painted patina. Despite the labor-intensive manufacturing process, Maglieriapelle takes pleasure in producing high-quality yet affordably priced handmade shoes.
