Margaret
This Double Bay location is a popular choice among visitors. You've probably heard of Neil Perry's dining spots, and this is one of the best. The restaurant, which is run by Perry's daughter, Josephine, and executive chef Richard Purdue, serves a variety of Mediterranean and Asian flavors with a modern Australian touch.
There's a twist to the Mediterranean/Asian mix. For example, the agnolotti stuffed with spanner crab, topped with makrut lime leaf and a pour-over soup of fresh chilli and lemongrass, combines Italian flavors with hints of Thailand. The cocktail menu is especially noteworthy. Every good lunch requires a supporting Martini, and Margaret's offering is one of the greatest. Margaret also claims to have the "best Negroni in Double Bay," made entirely of local Australian ingredients.
