Matador Bar
One cannot help but be immediately transported to a different age where class and glamour reign supreme upon entering the opulent Matador Bar. The room's focal point is a huge black walnut and stone bar, and floor-to-ceiling windows offer the only unhindered ocean view of any hotel in Miami Beach. Famous French photographer Lucien Clergue's images of the art of bullfighting are displayed on the black walnut-paneled walls, and a carefully constructed cocktail menu honors the profession of bartending.
World-famous chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten has transformed the historic Matador Bar with revamped menus that provide his vision of Caribbean, Spanish, Latin, and South American cuisines, inspired by its rich history and 1950s glitz. Small and big plates that include the finest, locally sourced, seasonal produce make up seasonal menus. The dining area's deep oval dining room has a restored antique chandelier hanging above it that is reminiscent of the opulent supper clubs of the 1940s and 1950s.
