May soothe menstrual cramping
Women frequently experience cramping in the lower abdomen before or during their periods. Using lavender can help ease uncomfortable sensations. In particular, one Iranian research of 200 young adult women revealed that inhaling lavender for 30 minutes a day during the first three days of a menstrual cycle dramatically reduced unpleasant cramps compared to the control group after two months.
There have been no studies on the use of lavender in tea or supplements, but other research indicates that massages with lavender essential oil reduce menstrual cramps. Even so, consuming lavender tea and savoring its aroma may be beneficial; further study is required.
