Mayreau
Only accessible by boat, Mayreau is the Grenadines' smallest inhabited island, but this is also one of the most beautiful to visit, with beautiful pristine palm-fringed sandy beaches and turquoise waters. Mayreau is home to a very small community on a hilltop in the island's southwest corner. There is lodging on the island, but there are no roads. It is a popular stopping point for boats, and it also offers water sports and hiking.
Colorful beachwear stalls billow in the tradewinds along Salt Whistle Bay's idyllic shoreline. Two perfectly crescent-shaped beaches meet at a narrow spit of sand and almost vanish before rising up into a protective headland. Rough Atlantic waves crash over the barrier reef on one side, while boats sit quietly in the Caribbean Sea on the other. The water is so clear and calm that it casts sharp shadows on the sandy bottom.
