Meguro
Meguro was founded in 1937 as a manufacturer for the marine industry. Meguro's headquarters is located in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The founder of Meguro was Hobuji Murato and a senior naval officer, Takaji Suzuki. In 1950, Meguro entered racing and built his first twin-cylinder design, the 651 cc T1 "Senior" based on a British design. The K-series "Stamina" is a UK-recognized product for its superior quality and engineering.
In 1964, in conjunction with Kawasaki, launched the product "Kawasaki-Meguro Works" single cylinder of 125cc, 175cc, and 250cc. The 500 cc K series twin-cylinder model was later expanded and developed into the 625 cc Kawasaki W series. The 1965 K2 was based on Meguro's K Series models and was manufactured by Kawasaki Aircraft Co. Ltd. and Redesigned for durability and top-speed performance. “Meguro Z97 Motorcycle” is recognized by the Japan Association of Automotive Engineers as one of 240 Milestones of Japanese Automotive Technology.
With excellent two-stroke engine designs (350cc and 400cc) Meguro has become one of Japan's leading two-stroke engine manufacturers and second only to Honda.
