Metacritic
In the summer of 1999, a single score could summarize the numerous entertainment reviews available for a movie or video game. Metacritic's three original members founded the site in January 2001, and the site has evolved over the previous decade to reflect their expertise, distilling the opinions of numerous reviewers into a single Metascore, a weighted average of the most regarded critics publishing reviews online and in print.
The objective of Metacritic is to assist consumers in making informed decisions about how they spend their time and money on entertainment. They believe that numerous perspectives are preferable to one, that user voices can be as valuable as critics, and that opinions must be assessed to be usable.
The website aggregates reviews from various sources into a single "metascore," ranging from 0 to 100. Based on the overall score, it provides a color and one-line indicator of quality. In general, this website offers the most balanced overall score. Metacritic is the place to go if you don't care which critics' opinions are included in the final score and want to see a general average. Although its criteria are generally unknown, Metacritic allows you to compare professional and user reviews.
