Millau Viaduct
The Millau Viaduct is one of Europe's most well-known bridges. It is a must-see on any road trip across France, standing at an astonishing 886 feet, ranking number 15 on the list of highest bridges in the world.
The construction of this magnificent building, which cost about €394 million, was completed in 2004. On the A75 highway, which connects Clermont-Ferrand with Béziers and Narbonne, the bridge is located at La Méridienne.
It passes through the Tarn Valley and is close to Peyre, one of France's top ten most picturesque villages. It's an incredibly beautiful location, especially when the clouds and fog roll in, and the big metal suspensions appear to sail among the clouds and fog.
On the highway, there is an observation area and a tourist information office, which are great for finding out more about the viaduct. It is definitely worthwhile to see the Tarn Gorges while you are nearby, where the viaduct is located.
With its ancient ruins, fortifications, and cathedrals, as well as more athletic pursuits like canoeing, kayaking, and climbing, it is one of France's most historically significant locations.
