Tower Bridge
Tower Bridge, situated in close proximity to the iconic Tower of London, is a remarkable architectural marvel. This magnificent structure is a unique combination of a bascule and suspension bridge, elegantly spanning the majestic River Thames. Over the years, the iconic symbol of London has gained significant recognition. The construction of the project began in 1886 and was completed after a span of 8 years.
The bridge is comprised of two sturdy towers that are connected at the upper level through two horizontal walkways. These walkways are specifically engineered to endure the immense forces exerted by the suspended sections of the bridge.
The bascule bridge, situated amidst the two towers, boasts an impressive total span of 200 feet (61 meters). Additionally, on either side of the bascule bridge, there are two suspension bridges, each with a remarkable span of 270 feet (82 meters). The Tower Bridge Exhibition includes the inclusion of the high-level walkway that connects the two towers.
