Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015)
The fifth episode in the Mission: Impossible film series, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, is a 2015 American action spy film written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, based on a narrative by McQuarrie and Drew Pearce. Following the dissolution of the IMF, Ethan Hunt, an IMF (Impossible Missions Force) agent, is on the run from the CIA as he tries to prove the existence of the Syndicate, a mysterious global freelance terrorist group made up of many former intelligence officers from various countries and its "ledger".
Filming in Vienna, Austria, began on August 21, 2014, and ended on March 12, 2015. On July 31, 2015, Paramount Pictures released the film in North America. It received favorable critical reviews and grossed $682 million worldwide, making it the eighth-highest-grossing film of 2015 and the third-highest-grossing Cruise film. On July 27, 2018, a sequel, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, was published, with McQuarrie returning his roles as writer and director.
