Monte Binga
Monte Binga is one of the highest mountains in Mozambique and Zimbabwe's second highest mountain. It's in the Chimanimani Mountains, in the Chimanimani Transfrontier Park in Manica Province, on the boundary between Zimbabwe and Mozambique. It stands at an elevation of 8004 feet (2440 meters) above sea level.
This summit, which is one of the highest mountains in Mozambique (and the second highest in Zimbabwe), is best reached through Zimbabwe's Chimanimani National Park. It is reported that on clear days, you can see all the way to the Indian Ocean. Chimanimani National Park is normally quiet but the remoteness necessitates self-reliance. There are several routes that lead up the mountain. This is more of a weekend walk than a technical climb; it's a lengthy day for the mountain with some class II trail parts.
The vistas of Mozambique's plains are stunning. On a clear day, a telescope should be able to see the Indian Ocean from the peak of Binga, which is 190 kilometers away. The peak is situated distant from any settlements.
